Abundant Life

Have you ever made a promise to God and than broke it?  If yes, you are also probably feeling a lot of guilt and fear.  After all, it can’t be a good thing to break a promise to the King of the universe.  Right?

I remember knowing this guy who once promised God that if he could reach a certain weight that he would go into ministry by becoming a pastor.  Miraculously, he shed pounds like crazy and reached his desired weight.  It seemed that God kept his side of the deal; however, this individual never went into ministry.  This individual regained his weight and felt that he was being punished by God for not keeping his promise.  As a result, he lived a life filled with guilt.
