The Fall of Man
Saturday, October 28th, 2006This morning I read about the Garden of Eden and the fall of man. God planted a tree in the middle of the garden called the tree of “Good and Evil”. The garden was full of beautiful trees, waterfalls, flowers, and animals. The only thing Adam and Eve were instructed not to do was eat from the tree of Good and Evil.
The Bible says that the snake was the cleverest of all wild animals created by God. Quickly, we find out just how clever the snake was as it engages in a conversation with Eve. The snake said, “Did God really say that you must not eat fruit from any tree in the garden?” Apparently this was not out of the ordinary as Eve simply responded, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden. But God told us, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden. You must not even touch it, or you will die”. The snake responded, “You will not die, God only forbid it because He knew you would become just like Him and know good and evil.” (more…)
