Searching For True Happiness?

Saturday, August 19th, 2006

What do you do to try to find happiness?  Unfortunately, many have unsuccessfully searched for true happiness their entire lives.  In an effort to avoid the same mistake, we should study history so that we can learn from others.

Solomon was the wealthiest and wisest man that ever lived.  In Ecclesiastes 2 he sets out to find happiness.  Here are some of the things he did to find it: (more…)

What Others Are Saying About Hell

After writing my post on hell, I decided to see what others were saying about the subject.   I stumbled upon a post that was quite interesting.  In summary, the blogger was complaining about a “born again Christian” who said one can only be saved through Jesus.  The blogger responded by saying, “But what about people who are born into a different religion?”  The “born again Christian” simply reiterated her previous statement and then proceeded to invite the atheist blogger to her Bible study.  (more…)

Is There an Eternal Hell?

Saturday, August 12th, 2006

The burning in hell forever concept was crafted by Satan in an effort to cause people to view God as a ruthless tyrant. This fear based campaign has been successful in spreading misconceptions about an “eternal hellfire”. A religion that motivates a following out of fear is actually placing God in a false light. Those who have not accepted Jesus as their Savior will not be tortured in hell forever.

That’s a fair question.  Do we go directly to heaven or hell?  Is there a purgatory or eternally burning hell?  Do we have an eternal soul that “reincarnates” into different life forms depending how we lived?  Others believe we will never know the answer.  I disagree, keep reading if you would like to have the answers.

I once thought this was completely unfair.  Why should I be involuntarily brought into this world with a sinful nature sentenced to die because of what Adam and Eve did?  (more…)
